John Chow’s Challenge

Here’s a good example for my readers who want to start a new blog or are wading in one already. My mentor, John Chow, is an authority on making money online. John has been challenged to create an entirely new blog and build it to profitability without relying on his name to promote it… and to make it interesting, he’s starting with a budget of $100, as if he were brand new and struggling to find money to fund a project. John plans to spend $8.95 on a domain name, and $4.95 to pay for his first month of web hosting. The remainder of the budget will be earmarked for promotion of the site.

I believe that John Chow will be able to pull it off… he definitely has the know-how to put something like this together. If nothing else, this has the possibility of being a fantastic PR move for JohnChow.com. Can you imagine the buzz that’s going to be created as John’s readers try to guess which blog is his? Most recently, there has been an air of mystery surrounding a popular spoof of John’s site called JohnCow.com. My new friend at Adsense Tracker has been reporting some ideas that my mentor may have created his own spoof site to create a buzz in the blogosphere and generate extra traffic. Could it be that this is another evil PR stunt?

In any event, here’s a link to the article about John’s challenge. It will definitely be interesting to see John’s results as he starts from scratch as a new blogger. Best of luck, John!
