The Profit Principle of Smart Gamblers (and Entrepreneurs!)

Here’s a great article from Ankesh Kothari (the kid who developed the Buy me a Beer/Latte plugin) about when to cut your losses or re-evaluate. I’m a Texas Hold ‘Em player (as a hobby), so the principles are familar to me… but I have enough friends who have seen me blogging and “all of a sudden” want to do it because they heard I made a couple bucks that I think it’s important to insert a “smart gambling” intervention message as a disclaimer.

It’s not easy to make money as a blogger. If you’ve studied SEO and monetization techniques, it CAN be. But whether it IS is a different story altogether. Ultimately, you’ve got to keep your perspective and know that just because you’re doing it doesn’t mean it’s successful.
